AutoCAD® Architecture 2010 software is the version of AutoCAD software for architects.
Creating designs and documentation is more efficient using the software’s purpose-built tools for architects. Automate tedious drafting tasks and help reduce errors. For users familiar with AutoCAD’s intuitive user environment, AutoCAD Architecture 2010 offers immediate productivity gains with the flexibility to learn additional features at your own pace. The software’s popular DWG file format makes it easier to share and communicate designs with engineers and the extended project team. AutoCAD Architecture offers immediate productivity for architects familiar with AutoCAD software.

What’s New

New Ribbon User Interface

  • The simplified, unified ribbon interface format enables users to more quickly find the tools they need, by organizing tools into a collection of tabs, which represent workflows such as creation, annotation and collaboration. Each tab contains a series of panels – a group of tools used to accomplish that part of the workflow.
  • The ribbon is organized around the way designers work, enabling users to quickly find the appropriate tools to accomplish tasks without searching all over the user interface.
  • Consistent user interface between most Autodesk programs allows users to move between programs more smoothly.

Improved Usability

  • AutoCAD Architecture 2010 software helps improve wall drafting productivity with intuitive tools that allow users to draw wall layouts that better reflect actual construction.
  • Common AutoCAD commands such has Trim and Extend have been joined by Fillet and Chamfer, providing more control in designing walls as they will actually be constructed in the field.
  • A new Space Separator tool has been added, allowing users to automatically divide spaces that are not bound by walls with plain AutoCAD linework.
  • A new flip text position grip for AEC Dimensions has been added, giving users additional control over the placement of text.
  • More accurately design and annotate drawings with an improved stairs feature, allowing the inclusion of a distinct “ramp” type, which comes complete with its own display and annotation tags (Percentage Tag, Degree Tag and Numeric Tag).

Enhanced interoperability

  • AutoCAD Architecture software is interoperable with certain Autodesk products and third-party applications for specific needs, allowing for more effective collaboration with extended design teams.
  • Part files and assemblies from Autodesk® Inventor® software can be exported to AutoCAD Architecture software as MV Blocks, meaning that 2D and 3D views of the imported content is possible.
  • When exporting designs via industry foundation class (IFC), relevant space boundary information is now attached for proper energy analysis for AutoCAD® MEP software.
